Description

A splendid pair of Japanese Meiji period bronze vases decorated front and back in mixed metals using onlay, inlay and chiselling techniques, one side of each of the matching vase show a bird on each swooping over leaves growing out from water while the other side shows ducks feeding on reeds in the shallows. Both vases are finished with a repeating inlaid border and have an inlaid mixed metal motif at the neck.

Condition: Excellent overall condition with waxed finish.
