Description

Delightful small 17th.c. oak coffer c.1680. Based on the traditional six plank chest but with a panelled front with moulded mullions and stiles. The sturdy construction and flat plank top makes it ideal to double as a useful little window seat or hall bench with storage. Unusual shaped detail at the sides, lovely old locking plate and hand cut iron nails. Fitted inside with a small lidded compartment. Excellent colour and condition with later hinges and some old repairs.
