Large Antique Georgian Mahogany Bureau C1780

Description

This is a large george 111 mahogany bureau and dating from around 1780. It has a brass escutcheon to the fall front which opens to reveal and very nice mahogany interior with a central door and panel to either side with inlaid stringing. This central section has an internal spring catch which pulls out to reveal four secret drawers behind. To either side of the centre is a long slim drawer and two smaller drawers with pigeon holes and three small drawers above. The base has three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with original brass handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on ogee bracket feet.

This is an excellent quality mahogany georgian bureau and in very good condition with a small chip to the left hand centre panel. However this does not detract overall.

It measures: 44" high X 21" deep X 49" wide X knee height 30"
