Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The hinged lid lifts to reveal a large amount of storage space to the inside. In well-figured oak with good colour and patina. With label to inside which reads “Gullachsen & Son Ltd. House Furnishers. Newcastle-on-Tyne”. Lots of wear and old marks to the interior.

Good colour and patina. The lock dosesnt work, and the lid doesnt quite close properly – it needs a little press down when you close it. Quite a few old marks and scuffs to the interior, but otherwise in good order.
