Fantastic Victorian Flamed Mahogany Scotch Chest of Drawers C1880

Description

This is a fantastic large victorian scotch chest of drawers and dating from aorund 1880. It has a wide flared cornice top with deep bowed frieze with lovely carved corbal supports to either side and to the base. There two short drawers over four long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined with original turned knob handles inset with mother of pearl. It stands on a deep plinth base with turned mahogany feet.

The top of the cornice is in fact a secret compartment by means of a fold over top (please see photo). It separates into three pieces for ease of transporting.

It is in very good condition with just a couple of small veneer chips. It is of quality flamed mahogany that now has a deep colour and patination.

It measures: 71" high X 25" deep X 55" wide
