A Lady’s 9 Carat Gold 1930s Omega Wrist Watch

A lady’s 9 carat gold 1930s Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 23.4, which is working nicely. The movement is signed and the serial number 8,535,342 dates it back to the second half of the 1930s.

The watch itself measures 25.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are Continental hallmarks inside the hinged case back, together with the Omega triangular stamp and also the "Marteau sans manche" mark for case maker Vuilliomenet & Cie SA of Bienne… the mark was registered in 1934 so ties in nicely with the date of the movement. Overall the case is in good condition for such an early piece, just a couple of small indentations to the back and a little surface marking.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a couple of very faint short hairline cracks. Breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch has a vintage leather strap which is a little on the small side so fine for a slim wrist. If a longer strap is required, please just let us know and we can arrange to fit a new.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
