Large Gothic Oak Library Bookcase, Late 19th/early 20th Century, 5ft High

A handsome large Gothic style oak and rosewood library floor bookcase dating to the late 19th/early 20th century. Featuring undulating mouldings in rosewood, blind fretwork and panelling it has a rectangular top over five doors and stands on bun feet. With a total of fifteen adjustable shelves this bookcase can store just over 39ft (nearly 12m) of books.
 
In very good condition with original locks stamped R C & S for Richard Cooper & Sons and with one key, a retailers label has been added inside one door for ‘James Allan & Co, by appointment to H.M The King and H.R.H.The Prince of Wales, 122 Union St., Aberdeen’.
