Antique Early Victorian Mahogany Bookcase Secretaire Bureau C1850

Description

Superb antique early victorian mahogany bookcase secretaire and dating from around 1850. It has a cornice top with deep mahogany frieze above two triple glazed panelled doors with three adjustable shelves. The base has a moulded edge above a deep false drawer front which slides forward and opens to reveal a lovely secretaire desk which has a brown faux leather writing surface (which is later) and three short drawers all f whcih are strung either side of an open space to the centre. The drawers are mahogany lined and with small original knob handles. There are two panelled doors with two internal mahogany lined sliding trays. It is moulded to the base and stands on turned mahogany feet.

Separates into two pieces for ease of transporting.

Measures: 85" high X 23" deep X internal depth top 9" X 45" wide
