Antique Shop Countertop Oak Framed Glass Display Case

1900 - 1920
Description

Nice example of an early 20th Century retail display case. It is made of oak with a glazed top panel and front. It is likely to have been used in a shop or retail setting for displaying fine items. The lid is hinged and the hinges lock in place when lifted fully up. The case has two metal carrying handles either side.

It is in good condition overall. The glass is all in good condition although the top has some light scratches on where things have been placed on top. Inside is clean and tidy and the wood has a nice aged patina. There are some old historic woodworm holes around the back of the case which have all been treated as a precaution and aren't detrimental. It is possible that the side hinges have been moved or changed at some point but it has been done a long time ago and the current hinges are good and strong.
