Description

Fine example of the classic late 19th.c. military officer’s campaign chest c.1880. In solid camphorwood, a fragrant and pest resistant timber which helped protect contents during passage, further strengthened with brass corners and bindings. With a flush fitting handle to the lid and heavy duty brass carry handles to each side. Unusual inkwork detail to the top and front, the lid also carries a brass plate named for C.L Dunlop. Inside retains the original small drawer and hinged lid compartment for small items. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
