A Rare Victorian Pair of Chinoiserie Beech Chairs

Description

A rare Victorian pair of Chinoiserie rustic chairs. A designers dream chairs, if blue is your colour, luck is on your side. This mid 18th century Chippendale period pattern. Has been copied for the last 250 yrs plus, i myself in my younger days as a formal period chairmaker made a set of eight of these, japanned black with 24 ct gold bamboo leaf decoration with a matching table of my own design. its been many years since then but i seem to remember the carvers had 115 hand cut joints to compile this fabulous pattern. Although these are not of formal construction, The more i look at them the more pleasing to the eye they become. I will actually be sad to see these leave.
