A Superb Large Victorian Silver Whistle.

19th century
Description

A quality Victorian hallmarked silver dog or conductors whistle. The body is of cylindrical form with floral engraving, often seen on Vesta's of a similar age. The oval cartouche features the inscription 'Mrs Wilkinson, Handsworth' - A charming link to it's previous owner. There is an attaching loop for a fob chain or chatelaine which is also part marked. A wonderful collector's item and practical piece.

Hallmarks :- Clear and readable - Full marks to body, part marks to both end and attaching ring.
