Heron and Fish Candlesticks by Abbott

19th century
Description

Circa 1840, this is a pair of beautifully made cast brass/bronze candlesticks possibly by Thomas Abbott of Birmingham.

They show a pair of cranes or herons standing on a rocky base holding stylised fish in their beaks which in turn supports the candleholders.

They measure 40cm in height and the base is 17cm wide. Each candlestick weighs over 2kgs and they are top quality.

Both are in excellent condition bar a tiny gap under the chest of one, and this may have been left during casting. The candlesticks have only been lightly polished by us because some customers prefer us not to over clean items.

Postage and packing within the UK mainland is included in the price, and for delivery elsewhere, please contact us for a quote.
