Mahogany Folding Cake Stand "The Monoplane"

Description

A stylish and unusual antique Edwardian mahogany cake stand or plate stand, known as the ‘Monoplane’ dating from circa 1910. The arched lifting handle above 5 circular dishes with indented tops. The patent action mechanism allows the cake stand to sit in an upright position or open like a fan. On tapering uprights united by shaped stretcher and standing on trestle end feet.

Solid and sturdy. General wear and marks commensurate with age. Frame slightly warped.
