Burr Walnut Chest on Chest by Druce and Co

Description

A good burr walnut chest on chest , or tallboy. This delightful chest offers good storage capacity with an arrangement of 8 drawers, each fitted with its original solid brass swan neck handles. It is of gentle serpentine form and stands on bracket feet. This chest was made by the prestigious firm of Druce and Co of London. We have had it sympathetically repolished to a very high standard. It is now offered for sale in excellent condition with a great colour and patina.

Druce & Co were a London based cabinet makers and sellers of second-hand furniture in Baker Street. They were established in the 1840s and in the Marylebone Trade Directory of 1853 listed themselves as ‘Furnishers, Upholsterers and Upholders for clients of discernment’.
