Description

Fine early 19th.c. portrait of a gentleman c.1830. Painted in oil on canvas, both the artist and sitter are unfortunately unrecorded but he is obviously a young man, fresh faced with clear eyes, narrow shoulders and a wispy set of sideburns. Shown half length in a high collared shirt with grey silk neck tie. With small hole above his right eye and some minor retouching to the background. Presented on the original stretcher in a good quality vintage gilt frame.
