Description

A good set of ten mahogany Regency Period antique dining chairs. Each having a broad top rail with a finely figured mahogany central tablet and carved detail. The horizontal back supports having a shell carved cartouche with triple reeded supports. Supported on sabre front legs and swept rear legs, with drop in seats upholstered in a patterned velvet. The single carver chair of slightly larger scale and having open swept arms. Possibly made by Gillows of Lancaster as this is a well known Gillows design. English circa 1820

Dimensions: Armchair 35" high x 20" wide x 22" deep Stand Chairs 35" high x 19" wide x 21" deep (seat heights 18")

Condition: This set of chairs are in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. The seats have no rips of damage but one or two have minor marks consistent with age and use. The seats could be re-upholstered at a further cost of £350 in a fabric of your choice and would need approximately 5 metres of fabric
