~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A lovely and rare Antique French Pendule d'Officier, ideal as a desk clock.
It is exquisitely made in gilt bronze, classical in style with ribbon tied frames to the side frets and a laurel swag to the top.

The handle is Ouroboros, symbol of eternal life. The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with beautifully cut gilt brass hands and convex glass. The rear door is also glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is fitted with a platform escapement, no setting up required and you can move it around with no problems. It runs for 8 days on one wind and gently strikes the hours and halves on a coiled gong, watch the video clip below to hear the gong.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. We have replaced the fabric. The original rear glass has a small chip on the inside. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

Complete with a suitable key.
