Description

Unusual Spode moulded porcelain table basket with naturalistic base and handle with mottled brown and green decoration and the main bowl formed from overlapping scallop shells painted in polychrome enamels in pink, yellow, blue and brown. The inside is finely painted with sprays of garden flowers and the rims gilded. Marked to the base Spode 1918 in red italics, c.1820.

It measures 8 1/8" long, 5 5/8" wide and 5" high. Condition is very good with damage or restoration and very light surface wear, just really some small amounts of wear to the enamels of the sprays on the floor inside the bowl.
