A superb Victorian freestanding cylinder top pedestal desk. Constructed from fine quality figured mahogany this desk has 9 graduated drawers all with applied mouldings, turned pulls and circular brass escutcheons. The barrel shaped cylinder opens to reveal a well fitted interior of various drawers and pigeon holes and a pull out writing slide with 3 sections of green tooled leather, the centre with adjustable reading slope. The polished top with an impressive moulded gallery to the back and sides. The freestanding back with attractive panelling and applied mouldings and the whole standing on plinth bases.
