Description

Very impressive Antique Swedish marble top commode chest of exceptional quality & in good original condition. It has the original rouge marble top which is in good condition & really compliments this piece. There are many different woods involved like Kingwood, rosewood, satin birch, mahogany & many other more exotic woods. There is also a lot of intricate marquetry, both classical & floral. The gilt bronze mounts & handles are well cast & excellent quality. This commode has generous proportions & is quite a statement piece. I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period.
