1920s Tacy Pocket Watch, Leeds Prison

Description

1920s Tacy pocket watch, Leeds Prison.

The watch has a nice quality jewelled Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is inscribed Presented to F.W.Jackson by the staff of H M Prison Leeds on his retirement, September 1920.

The watch measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company and was originally guaranteed to wear for 10 years. The case has some rubbing to the outer edge of the back but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch glass has the odd faint surface mark from use but overall it is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
