A fine quality Repeating Carriage Clock c.1890

A fine quality Anglaise Riche style French carriage clock. The substantial case with bevel-edged glasses throughout. Fluted pillars to the four corners topped with Corinthian capitals and the handle to match. A fine and original clock in fully restored condition.

The fully serviced French eight day movement of typical high quality, striking the hours and the passing of the half hour on a blued steel coiled gong, with the facility to depress the button on the case top to repeat the last hour. The original silvered lever platform escapement. Blued steel "Breguet" hands.

The circular enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals, outer minutes chapter surrounded by a fine quality foliate filigree mask.
