Late C19th Mahogany Glazed Chippendale Revival Double Bookcase.

Description

Late C19th mahogany glazed Chippendale revival double bookcase.

Capacious 4-door mahogany library bookcase with intricately-glazed astragal doors , 'blind-fret' decoration and elegant pierced fret-work 'swan-neck' broken-arch pediment cornice. Fitted with adjustable shelves to both sections . The whole raised on a plinth base.

Well-defined Chippendale style 'Chinese blind-fret' carved detail and carved square corner blocks. The impressive fret-work cornice surmount with dentil moulded detail and carved rosette terminals to the arch .

Fitted with brass bolts and locks to the doors and supplied with 2 original keys.

Divides into 3 sections for transportation and ease of movement .

Original polish and finish, has minor areas of fading and colour variance from sun-light exposure.

Excellent condition with no losses, damage or repairs.
