Antique English Novelty Thimble Case - Soccer Ball - Sterling Thimble - 1895

Description

A charming little Victorian novelty thimble case in the form of a football or soccer ball. Covered in red and black leather, one half opens to reveal the velvet lined interior with a sterling silver thimble nestled in the centre.

The thimble is sterling silver from the highly collectible Chester assay office, slightly hard to see the date letter, but I am pretty sure it is for 1895.

Absolutely charming and in excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age. 1 1/4" in diameter.
