Antique 1903 Elgin Stem Winding Pocket Watch

Description

Antique 1903 Elgin stem winding pocket watch

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed Elgin Nat'l Watch Co, U.S.A, 15 jewels and it has the serial number 10743341 which dates it back to 1903. This movement was only made for 2 years 1903 - 1904

The watch measures 49.2 mm diameter excluding the stem and loop. The gold filled case has a screw-on bezel and case back. The case is in nice condition with only the odd light mark from use and slight scuffing to the edge just under the winding crown.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial is enamel and it is signed Elgin and has red minute markers to the outer chapter ring. The dial has a faint hairline crack between 6 o'clock and the centre although hardly noticeable but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
