Description

French Art Deco terracotta sculpture titled 'Companionship' by the artist Paul Philippe. This sculpture is signed in the terracotta with the Maree Guillard foundry stamp. This sculpture has wonderful detail and patination and is in excellent condition.

Paul Philippe was born in Thorn, in Poland but worked mainly in France. He studied at the E'cole des Beaux Arts in Paris under the direction of Larroux. He specialised in Art Nouveau and Art Deco sculptures, always of very high quality.
