London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
Raised on turned, tapered fruitwood legs.

The quartered mahogany decoration to the front and side panels of this diminutive cupboard have been framed in a crossband delineated with ebony string detail, the drawer front similarly decorated with both the cupboard and dovetailed drawer dressed with brass pulls.

The classical overtones of the geometric stringing continue in the ormolu mounts of foliate detail applied to the quarter-round stiles that rise from the shaped plinth.
Above, the shaped, rose marble top overhangs and displays well with aged repair adding to the interest.

The cupboard closes on an interesting sprung latch whilst inside the original tin lining retains much of the original painted finish.
A super piece, ideal as a bedside cabinet with solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
