London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This is an antique, French pier cabinet dating towards the end of the 19th century c.1880.

Above the door, separated by a roped band of ormolu, the upper frieze features a centrally mounted painted porcelain miniature of floral interest, ringed with a chain of beads and highlighted with boxwood sting detail to either side. Above, the top displays well with moulded edge detail.

The glazed door friction closes with partial escutcheon over further inlaid stringing. Opening the door reveals the original, ruby red fitted interior complete with a pair of shelves, time faded as one would expect in a piece of this age.

Throughout, the burr walnut glows through the patinated finish offering a warm period charm to this attractive display cabinet.
Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
