Description
C19th Empire-style mahogany floor-standing glazed bookcase cabinet . Single door cabinet with simple bar glazing , enclosing an interior with 4 adjustable shelves . The sides with bold flame-veneered Empire-style columns capped with carved Egyptian-style 'lotus' capitals and terminals . Standing on a plinth base , the flat top of the cabinet veneered and polished. Fitted with a stamped English brass lock "VR" (Victoria Regina) and with original key . Original glass to door . Panelled back . Excellent condition , rich patina and colour to the well-chosen figured veneers. A stylish floor-standing bookcase of good proportions and scale .
