Some lovely colours and flowers were painted on this particualr chest. It has so much character and charm, a really rather gorgeous piece, with a very nice rustic lid.
Our painted marriage chests are becoming very popular with our customers. It is rare to find some in such nice condition as this one. The particular chest has some of the best original strap hinges we have seen !!
Nowadays customers buy these types of chests to use as a coffee table alternative or a lamp / hallway table, or an under window seat. They would have originally stored blanket's and linen at the end of ones bed, which they are still used for today.
