Delightful "Chamber" Writing Table by Gillows

Description

GILLOWS of LANCASTER: A charming and rare early/mid 19th century mahogany pedestal WRITING or "CHAMBER" TABLE in particularly fine original condition.

The well-figured solid top with its reeded edges and rounded corners, features a hinged compartment to the back (for pens and ink bottles). It is supported on a well-turned solid central column, leading to "hipped" and reeded legs terminating in finely cast brass 'sabot' castors.

A gorgeous table ~ highly recommended. 21.5ins wide; 17.25ins deep; 28ins high. (54.5 x 44 x 71cms)
