18th Century Beautiful Rustic "Marriage Chest"

Description

A beautiful 18th century pine marriage chest in a lovely, rustic, aged condition. Dating from 1790 this chest is amazing for its age. This particular one still shows the original paint, with beautiful colours and design.....fitting for a newly wed couple!! The lid even shows some remaining original paint which is a rare find.

What is more, it still has the original lock and key, carrying handles and strap hinges. A truly amazing piece of furniture.

Ever increasing in popularity, these trunks are nowadays used as a coffee table or lamp/hallway table, toy box, shoe box, or window seat. This particualr chest is strong enough to be used as a window seat. Customers also like to have them at the end of their beds to store extra blankets/duvets/linen.
