Fabulous pair of large carved wooden angels c.1800. Originating from the far Western tip of Brittany, France. Standing around three feet tall, carved from solid blocks of soft wood with the wings and arms applied. Beautiful detail to the hair, the feathered wings, robes and cloud bases. Over-painted in brown with tantalising traces of the original coloured paintwork visible below.
