What is more, the original lock and key are still in good working order! The lid is in a rustic condition which adds to the charm of the piece. The original strap hinges, carrying handles and candle box are still present.......a real find!!
The newly weds would have stored their blankets/linen in the chest. Nowadays, our customers still use the chest's for the same purpose at the end of their beds, but also they are used to store toys in a playroom, shoes in a hallway or even as an alternative to a coffee table/lamp table or window seat.
