Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

The now Shabby Frame was originally finished in dark green and gold, much of which has now worn away but it has a charming look and though a little chipped the finish is stable and not flakey
The mirror dates from the mid 19th century, the mercury glass is original and has a quite a bit of foxing, not perhaps one for the feint hearted but an interesting and attractive piece in its own right.

An original and genuinely Shabby Chic, French Painted Console or Pier mirror attributed to one of the well known French Makers
The mirror 49” high and it is 27” wide
