Top Quality English Cut Crystal and Sterling Silver Box - 1933

Description

A top quality example of a dressing table box or jar, made from a hefty piece of English crystal, with a deep hand-cut decoration.

The lid is made from English sterling silver with a full hallmark for Birmingham 1933, Art Deco in era. The makers initials are also present for the top-notch silversmith Grey and Co., which explains the quality of this piece.

The top of the lid has a wonderful rising sun guilloche enamel decoration in a wonderful gold colour.

Superb condition measuring 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" tall.
