C.1900 American Sterling Silver Castle Top Style Card Case Oriental Scene

Description

Very pretty American sterling silver flip top card case. Both sides feature a castle top style, very finely cast, central reserve of an oriental scene. this is surrounded by embossed decoration of leaves and arabesques within a shaped edge, each side finished with a stylised flower. A small vacant lozenge cartouche sits on each side. Gilded inside and marked Sterling.

It measures 3 3/4" long, 2 3/4" wide and 3/8" deep. It weighs 59g/1.9ozt. Condition is very good with no damage and just light surface wear from age and use.
