Small Sofa with Original Carpet Upholstery C.1890.

Description

Spectacular late 19th.c. two seater sofa with original carpet covers c.1890. Sprung upholstered backrest and seat and unusual bolster arms on a nickel plated bracket allowing them to drop (or be removed completely) to make a daybed or chaise longue. Exceptional soft carpet type covers with a richly coloured Persian pattern and long tassel braid. Lift the braid to reveal the turned and ebonised front legs with original wooden castors. Excellent condition.
