Primitive Welsh Elm Windsor Chair. Circa 1780

Description

Charming Georgian primitive Welsh elm windsor armchair with stick back and support to wide flat arms. Simple stick legs. Wonderfully figured seat. All in fine condition though it appears that the legs, which are original, have been re-positioned probably due to them coming loose. Wonderful honey colour with superb waxed patina.

Size; 29" high, 25" wide across arms, 20" deep.

Dealer in hand picked Georgian and earlier furniture, ceramics, metalware and silver. Also stocked 19th. Scottish paintings and oriental rugs. Business founded in 1854 in Portsmouth, now run by myself the fourth generation near Perth in Scotland. Shop closed now due to retirement
