Description

A London mahogany wheel barometer. A mahogany case with choice flame veneers. Silvered engraved dials and signed to the level at the base 'F Pastorelli, 4 Cross Street, Hatton Garden'. A 10" silvered main dial with good engraving. A swan neck pediment with central brass finial. Circa 1830.

The Pastorelli family of barometer makers worked from the 1790's to 1850's in London. They are well documented in Banfields' 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book.
