Antique Swedish marble top secretaire cabinet of fine quality with a stunning writing interior. It has a slim top drawer, a pull down writing surface, a bottom drawer & sitting on tapered inlaid legs with brass feet. This is an exceptional piece of furniture both inside & out. There are many different woods involved, like rosewood, kingwood, satin birch plus many more. This cabinet has lots of fine gilt mounts & escutcheons. There is some fine marquetry in panels on the front flap & sides. The flap comes down to reveal a wonderful secretaire. with all sorts of intricate features. There are many drawers & a cupboard, plus the wood inside is beautiful. I think this piece looks better open than closed. This cabinet is in excellent condition having just been polished & I would date it to around the 1910 period.
