Description

An 18th Century Pewter Tureen and Cover.

The cover with a mushroom shaped handle to the centre, spreading to a ring collar. The body of the lid curving down to a broad flat rim, with ring decoration. The body with a pot bellied profile, with horizontal banding to the top and bottom. The body mounted with a pair of axe head shaped lifting handles, and the whole on a raised ring foot rim. The lid and body with a crest, and the underside with touch marks for 'CARPENTER'.

Date c 1750.

Height 6 1/2 inches, width 12 inches, depth 11 inches.
