Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
This is a very fine and exquisite example of a ladies wristwatch made by Swiss maker Gruen.

It is attached to a solid 9ct yellow gold snake skin design bracelet which simply glides around the wrist and will fit a maximum wrist size of 6.5 inches but this can easily be reduced by any competent jeweller.

The case measures 28mm x 14mm excluding the winding crown.
It is quite stunning, the dial is completely original. A new glass has been fitted and it has been professionally cleaned and polished so it is absolutely pristine.

The 17 jewel is an absolute gem, sparkling clean and in like new condition, this is a movement from the golden age of Swiss watchmaking.
As you would expect from Gruen the watch is fully marked on the dial and movement and the case is marked 14k and the bracelet 9ct.

It also comes with its original box.
Gruen were one of the most exclusive makers during this period and this watch certainly has that understated elegance which resonates class, truly a piece of jewelery which will never date.

The watch has just been fully overhauled, restored and serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Gruen in all respects.
This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled by the respected watch specialist Alan Williams FBHI, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.

The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.

The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and the watch sealed.

Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
