An Antique Silver Omega Pocket Watch

An antique silver Omega pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. It is signed with the Omega logo on the regulator. There are also a couple of numbers underneath the dial, one is the serial number of 1353417 which dates it back to around 1900, and the other is the brevet (patent) number of 8760 which relates to an 1895 patent applied for by Louis Brandt, the founder of Omega. The movement is protected with an inner hinged cover which is signed and has various details of the movement and trade medals won by Omega.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Swiss silver hallmarks inside both of the case backs together with the early Omega mark. The case is in good condition with just the odd minor ‘ding’, nothing serious at all.

The acrylic lens has a few very light marks although not too noticeable to the naked eye.

The signed dial is in beautiful condition.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
