Solid Silver Trowel Bookmark 1894

A Late Victorian SOLID SILVER BOOKMARK made in a novelty trowel shape which has a slot in it so that the trowel can be slipped over a page in a book, marking it for you. The bookmark has a sterling silver handle that has been wonderfully bright cut engraved and decorated by hand and set with three Blue Lace Agate stones and the blade has a finely hammered texture.

The bookmark has NOT been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram and the trowel shaped body has been impressed with a full set of English solid sterling silver hallmarks and the condition is Used / Excellent which, for its age, is quite remarkable.

This Superb Victorian Book or Page Marker would make a superb addition to any collection or a gift that can still be used today.
