The folding-top side-table of d-end form with rear double gate-leg action ,reeded edges , opens with a hinged action , with a brass-mounted 'concertina' or scissor-action carriage beneath which pulls open and extends to accommodate the 3 extra leaves. The 3 original leaves of equal size , all with conforming reeded edges .The front of the closed table having a frieze with a central rectangular classically-inspired tablet , moulded returns and canted corner blocks, drawing its form from classical and ancient design popularised by the neo-classically inspired drawings of the architects and furniture designers of this period .

Raised upon 6 tapering reeded legs with brass castors. The leaves all fitted with original flush-fitting brass receptors to the edges and complete with the corresponding original 8 gilded-brass clips or 'forks'. The open and fully-extended table with the 3 leaves fitted , provides ample space for 8 diners with comfortable leg-room . When fully extended and fitted with the brass forks, it forms a completely flat and stable dining surface . Can of course, be utilised with any number of , or combination of leaves to form a table of the desired size.

Excellent quality table in first-class ,untouched original condition . Though this particular table does not bear the trademark brass plaque to the under-frame stating it was manufactured by Wilkinsons ,this is undoubtedly a London-made table of the highest quality produced by a leading firm of cabinet-makers.

The grade of selected timber is of the highest quality and together with the design of the leg , may also suggest a possible "Gillows of Lancaster and London " attribution .
Excellent original colour , patination and finish , with some marks to the top commensurate with age , purpose and use.

Good consistent mellow colour throughout.
