Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The chairs are sound, some of them show signs of old woodworm as to be expected in chairs of this age, one has shrinkage in the seat but it is sound there is no movement so it is best left in its original state.

This does not affect the structure in any way and enhances their authenticity, on close inspection there are very slight variances in the chairs but this was probably because they were made by different craftsmen in the same work shop

The seats of the chairs are 17” high, the backs are 35” high and they are 18” wide across the front
