Description

A superb 19th Century papier mache tilt top pedestal table by the famous maker, Jennens and Bettridge. The beautifully decorated table top is well painted with a delightful floral bouquet and profusion of golden foliage to the outer rim. The elegant pedestal base and tri-form footed base are decorated in the same manner. The overall condition is good and the table stands well on the base. The tilt top mechanism is in good order with the original fastening working well. There is evidence of some minor historic restoration to the rim and minor surface wear to some of the decorated surface. Please see the photographs. This is a beautiful table, one of the prettiest we have ever had, it is typical of the high quality workmanship of Jennens and Bettridge, presented ready to grace any interior.
