19th Century French Country Oak Table

This is a charming 19th Century French Country Oak Dining Table

This is a typical piece of Rustic French provincial furniture it has stout turned legs and an oak plank top with cleated ends. The table has a drawer at one end and one unusual feature at the other, it has the bread slide, this pulls out to extend the table, it is used either to seat small children at or as extra space for the bread or the wine bottle.

The table it has very sturdy and chunky turned legs and a long )-( stretcher for added strength

The Table is in good sound condition with a good patina, there is a as shrinkage split in the top where the wood has dried out over the years, but it is still very strong and there is no sign of any recent movement, and all part of its rustic charm.

One added advantage to this very attractive piece is that the top had been made to lift off for ease of transportation

The table is 31” wide, it is 77” long, and the leaf extends it a further 24”, it is 31” high and 26” under knee
